when i am adding a country, its showing following error

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21'

Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.

why is this so?

This error can occur when you try to insert more data into a field than is allowed (for example, if you insert 26 characters into a Microsoft Access field that is formatted to accept only 25 characters).

That code is used because MYSQL requires different implementation when updating a record.

Don't think you should add SQL Server to the conditions there...
