Hi,
we would like to run VPASP 4.0
on an windows 2000 server with MySql instead of MS-Access.
Is this possible and what would we have to change.

Thanks

Poldy

awdesign - please take note :

Your posts are nothing but useless ** SPAM **

You have not even offered a personal contribution to this topic.

All you've done is copy & pasted your useless SPAM.

Please don't post to this section of the forum, if you don't intend to include a worthwhile contribution with your post.

If you just plan to post useless SPAM, save that ONLY for the "Offering Services" section of the forum.

You may be trying to market your services, but the suttle, helpful, and informative approach (which you need to learn) is respected a lot more by the forum members.

Like Mark Priest, or Cam, to give 2 examples. Take a leaf out of their book. They are offering their services, but in a manner that is suttle, and they are helpful and informative to other forum members. They make personal contributions to the topics. They DON'T post useless SPAM, like you do.

Hi poldy,

The MYSQL version of VP-ASP is supposed to work with BOTH Windows or UNIX servers.

If you're using a Windows server, then it should work OK as-is.

If using a UNIX server, then Chilisoft ASP needs to be installed.

Also, if you buy the "Deluxe Version" of VP-ASP :

This includes BOTH the Standard version of VP-ASP (for MS-Access or SQL Server) AND the MYSQL version of VP-ASP.

Hello advancedasia,

I am using the Mysql on Window webhosting server.
But having one Major & Critical problem:

I have to add Script.Timeout=240 on the shopdisplayproducts.asp, to avoid getting script timed out error ASP 0113.

Do you know how to get around this or fix this problem?
VPASP Tech Support and my Webhost Provider can only give me that suggestion of putting timeout=240 on the page.

But then a search for one item take more than 4 minutes to show up!

Thanks in advance.

Michael
