I have two similar, but totally separate web sites. One is hosted by IPNS and runs on their SQL2000, the other is at Alentus and runs on their SQL2005

Question is. . . is it possible to use the Alentus SQL2005 database, linking it to the IPNS hosted site? Even if this were possible, is it a wise thing to do? (I do like SQL2005 ability of unlimited product description length, which for my products is a real liability with SQL2000).

My guess is that tapping into a physically distant database would increase page load time for the customer. But that aside, is it possible to even consider doing this? (IPNS does not offer SQL2005)
