If I add a product, and put in my frontpage name when adding the product so it shows on the front page, when you click the item title or the "more info" link, it takes me to the page and says that this feature is not available in the free version. If I can't have items on my frontpage that link to the detail page, my frontpage is going to be blank. How do I get the links to work on the front page with the free version? |

Maybe 2 options.
One change the link in front template to go to shopquery.asp. Need change link so like this:
shopquery.asp?catalogid=[catalogid]
Or buy full version?
Thanx Scoota |

Ok, I found this in the setup. The xgenerateshopexdlink is set to NO in my configuration, but it is still generating the link to go to shopexd.asp, which is wrong. I tried updating the tmp_frontpage, but it didn't help anything. |

Hi,
As extended descriptions are not supported in the Starter Pac, you will need to replace all shopexd.asp links with shopquery.asp links in the tmp_frontpage.htm file.
Try the following as your tmp_frontpage.htm file:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2"> <tr> <td width="20%" valign=top> <a href="shopquery.asp?cataloid=[catalogid]"><img src="[Cimageurl]" width='60' height='60' border='0'></a> </td> <td width="50%" valign=top align="left"> <span class=hdrproduct><a href="shopquery.asp?catalogid=[catalogid]&bc=no">[cname]</a></span><br> [cdescription] </td> <td width="30%" align=right valign=top> $ Our Price: <span class='price'>[formatcustomerprice cprice]</span><br> $ Was: <strike>[FormatCurrency retailprice]</strike><br> <p><b><a href="shopquery.asp?catalogid=[catalogid]&bc=no">More Info</a></b></p> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <hr color=#cccccc noShade size=1> </td> </tr> </table>
Thank you.

Thanks, that seems to have worked. Why doesn't the code handle this correctly in the code for people using the free version? I see that the code is checking for this xGenerateShopexdLink value, and if it is 'yes' then the url should be shopexd.asp, and if it's not 'yes' then the url should be shopquery.asp. Something doesn't seem to be working with respect to that, but thanks for the help. |
