Instead of using an external file for a detailed category description, I use the HTML editor to edit the catdetails field in the categories table (similar to the product extended description).

I think that would be useful as a standard.

erik, hi, are u refer to Category Memo in vp-asp 7 ? what i see its already editing in html editor.
maybe you are using different version of vp-asp ?

Thanks for your reply.

Initially, the catextra fields allow you to include a text or html file when xdisplaycategoryfiles is set to ''yes''.

I suggest to use a new field in the category table (catdetails) which can be edited with the html editor. This html content can be displayed at the top of the product listing. The layout can be specified by a template (for example tmp_categorydetails.htm).

In this way you don''t need to create separate text or html files.
