I have a strange problem with the web order email notification,
It’s only sending notifications sometimes randomly?
Does anyone know what’s causing such issue?

Jkim, my thinking maybe you have missed to setting Auth username and pass inside file called shop$config.asp ???

Nope this is filled out with correct info
const xmailusername
const xmailpassword

Also, it do send notifications every once in a while, not just every time an order is placed..?

Order emails are only generated if the customer hits the shopthanks.asp page.

Depending on what gateway you use sometimes the customer will not return to the cart after making a payment.

What you need to do then is to use the Finalize order link in the View Order details page.

Make sure they have successfully completed the order though before using this tool.

It will complete the order process and generate order emails as well as if the customer had returned to the site.

I see the finalize order feature, but how can this help me when I need an automatic notification for when orders is placed, each time?
The Finalize feature is manually as far as I know?

What gateway are you using? Do you take cards directly on your site or on the gateways site?

If you are using PayPal IPN then we may be able to set up an automated process so even if they do not return your cart is still updated automatically.

I believe one of our team was playing with this for the next version.
