I tried both these suggestions inside the stylesheets subdirectory and uploaded it to the server and this seemed not to work.
- I have 3 CSS files in htat directory. One is called shop.css, shop650.css and a shop1.css? |

If you open shop.css in notepad or an html editor and find: /* Left column- categories, currency, language etc */
All your style settings for the left column are found here. You can add a background colour or image to #left h2 {....} and to #left .box {......}
Your site will use shop.css by default so you can ignore the other *.css files
Hope this helps

Thank you - that was helpful and I was able to change a few details. BUt for the most part, this is not the area of the page I was talking about. To the left of this area, I still have a white background I would like to either fill with a background graphic or at the very least add the matchiing colour to it. The area aslo appears on the right side.

outside of the menue areas.
Thanks....Tim |

Hi Tim,
in shop.css you could try adding your image or a background colour to the page's body style: body{......}
or within site boundaries in: #container, #wrap {.....}

I think I have that now to no avail.
#container,#wrap { width:760px; /* change value to adjust width */ text-align:left; margin:5px auto; font-size:12px; font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; bgcolor="#FFFFFF" } |

make sure you write the line like this:
background:#FFFFFF;
the semi-colon is important and don't add quote marks

this is the one im working on http://208.112.68.227/
are you trying to accomplish the same with the background image?
from looking at your shop.css, i did not modify the body style in my shop.css, i only added the background property to the body tag itself in shoppage_header.htm AND added the bgColor property to the main table also. all the other changes occurred in the shop.css.
