I am upgrading from an OLDER release of VP-ASP. Version 3.5. I'm having several problems. The problems seem to be database related, but I'm not 100% sure. I was wondering if the update was capable of updating from that version and I'm doing something wrong or do I need to start over with a different database and go from there. I'm trying to keep the downtime to a minimum. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, James.

There are too many changes to do a direct update from a 3.50 database.

If you only have a few categories and products, a manual conversion is the best especially if you use Microsoft Access.

Export the tables to flat files and import them into an empty 6.50 database. There is slightly more to it than that since 6.50 uses the prodcategories table and table based configuration values.

Most of the other tables will export and import with no problems.
