I'm creating an e-commerce site for a client, who wants to use a payment gateway, but only take 50% of the payment as a deposit when the order is placed (as the lead time on the products is quite long)
Could anybody give me any thoughts on how this could be achieved using VPASP. In theory they would have a terminal with which they could process the 2nd half of the order on dispatch via a CNP transaction, but would need access to the credit card details of the order via the payment gateway admin system.
As you'll have noticed - I'm a beginner! Any help much appreciated.

One way would be list Retail as full Price, and NOT mark out the Retail, then list the Deposit as 1/2 that amount. Make sure in the long Description to explain what you are doing. This would require no programming. There is a place in the admin to NOT mark out the retail. You might have to change the "our price" terminology to make it look cleaner.
