I want something like this added to the front page of my store.

i could nt see your image above, but i know vpasp cart has campaign monitor add-on taht maybe this is what suits you.
i dont know where to download it, but be sure you ask their staff for this add-on.

i think vpasp have newsletter addon, and usually customer need to subscribe
