I installed the Paypal IPN addon so that we don't require the user to click the "Return to Merchant" link in order to finalize the order. I have the main feature of Paypal IPN working where it updates the status of the order indicating that the user has paid.

However, it seems that there is still a ton of functionality in shopthanks.asp that doesn't get called unless the user clicks back (updating stock, gift cards, inventory, etc)

I'm planning to start changing the programming to put all of this important functionality from shopthanks.asp into the paypalipncallback.asp However, before I start this, I just wanted to see if there's an obvious easy solution that I'm missing that doesn't require reporgramming.

Thanks! Oh yeah, I'm on version 6.5. If this is resolved in version 7.0, please let me know.

Hi there,

There is a much simpler solution actually.

What we have done as an alternative is to add a feature into the View Order detail page called Finalise Order. If you click this for orders where the customer has not returned it will fire off all of the functions normally completed when they land on shopthanks.asp.

If you want this to be automatic then you will need to migrate the functions across unfortunately to the PayPal files.

This is the same for version 7.0.
