Hi there,

I have developed my store using VPASP back in 2007 and used MS Access that time, but now I want to upgrade my database to MS SQL Server.

Can you please confirm how can I do this, do I need to upgrade from Access to MSSQL or I need to install MSSQL and switch connection details in shop$db.asp file? Also I do not want to loose all the orders I have received uptill and now and they are stored in access database which is live. I want all data to be migrated as well with migration from access to MSSQL.

Please advise and thank you in advance.

Hi Sakk,

We have a module that will allow you to convert from Access to SQL Server in our download center.

You need to create a blank SQL database and then use our module to migrate your data.

Do not use the SQL migration tools as your site will hit many issues due to field types not being picked up corectly.

You need to use our scripts to firstly create the blank database and then the module to move your data across.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.
