we are using VPASP 6.5 and have some queries that have us totally stumped for some time.
We have a handful of items that have various permutations in size colour and style. Style is managed by categories, but in VPASP, the parent/child product works for things like colour and size. we end up with several hundred variants of the same item, as one single drop down of sub products for all several hundred variants.
If we take a simplified example of a sweater that has only 5 sizes but 8 colours. ( 40 choices in a pulldown if we use one parent and 40 child combinations)
What we want to achieve is a person selects the sweater and on the product page itself, they would select the size in one drop down and the colour in another drop down.
This is a simplified example, but in essence the 6000+ products we have for this scenario fall under about 9 different products ( which we have made as categories as we have not found a way to differentiate them otherwise). Ulitmately when the site user has a lengthy time searching for the correct coluor size variation they are after.
Customers typically seearch by colour ( over 60 colour options on each item size and style) so Is it possible to extend the search parameters to 2 or even 3 filtered choices via parent/child?
Ideally, these should be dynamic, so if the customer selects colour first they only see the sizes available and vice versa
Any thoughts here would be much appreciated.
