In vpasp 6.50, when a mail is sent from shopcustcontact.asp, the mail is showing "from address" as "xemail"....
i need it to show the customers email address which is entered in the textbox in the contact form

This is a feature in VPASP that forces your emails to be sent from Merchant

This is a spam protection issue for your shopping cart so you will receive all emails, otherwise you might end up getting some of your emails in the spam folder.

However vpasp has a solution for that

go to setup and change xmailfrommerchant to NO

if you would like your emails to come from address other than xemail

you should modify line 19 of shopmail.asp

my_fromaddress=getconfig("xemail")

Has anyone been able to get this to work? When I change xmailfrommerchant to NO, the contact form seems to stop working. The form itself submits with a success message, but the e-mail never came though.

Is there another step required to get this to work? We would really like to be able to simply click reply on the e-mails that come from the contact form, instead of having to manually change it every time.

Hi,

Some of the web server configuration require smtp authentication. If setting xmailfrommerchant to NO, the mail from address in the contact us form might have issue. Using other email such as gmail or yahoo will be blocked to send out. You might need to check with your host regarding this.
