Is it possible to have top sellers based on how many times product was purchased and not on quantity. Some products are purchased 10 at a time, but aren't really popular so I would want that to count as 1.
Top seller based on dollar value might work also.
Then again, I could just disable it, featured products is probably good enough.
Do you find top sellers useful?

Hi,

I have found that the featured items is a great way to get customers to at least have a quick look at products they probably wouldn't try to find. We also use a 'Just Arrived' display which has proved to be extremely popular. We don't use the Top Sellers function as our customers prefer to see what's new and what's featured rather than what we're selling most of.

You could also hardcode your topseller list as we have done.

You could use our showcase addon; it has a top-seller function and generic showcasing function, and for the top-sellers you can specify on each call to it what you consider a "top seller" to be, ie the first argument (usingsalestype) to the top-seller function can use:

"SUMOFNUMITEMS" for: Total Qty Sold
"COUNTOFORDERS" for: Number of Orders Placed with this product in it
"COUNTOFORDERITEMS" for: Number of Order Items with this product in it
"COUNTOFCUSTOMERS" for: Number of distinct customers who bought it
"SUMOFSALESAMOUNTS" for: Total monetary volume of sales

Essentially you put html code into the spot on the footer page where you want the bestsellers to be.
