I am looking for someone who has experience with email issues of VP-ASP on Godaddy host.

I installed my VP-ASP shopping cart on a Godaddy Deluxe host, but since the very first moment the mailing system fails to forward mails, generated in the cart, to the hosts/domain related mailboxes.

I cannot receive Contact Us and Tell Friend emails and Order confirmation letters on merchant side.

I can receive mails generated on the tester, diag_dbtest.asp page in all the mailboxes I want as well as order confirmation letter on the customer side without any difficulties.

Interesting fact is that all the test mails can be found in my mailboxes were sent by the VP-ASP support team.

Both the VP-ASP and Godaddy support team say that there is nothing wrong on their side.

If you have any idea what is behind it and how to solve it please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi Istvan,

From your description it does appear to be a completely host related problem unfortunately.

All of our tests went through successfully as soon as you use your GoDaddy hosted email account they fail.

Can you possibly as a last report try setting xmailfrommerchant in the Software Configuration setting to Yes.

Other than that I can only suggest trying another host.

Hope this works.

Thank you.

Dear Cam,

Thank you for your reply.

Following eight weeks of hopeless hunting for the solution, finally it worked. I mentioned in the support ticket that I had an upgrade version installed into a subfolder of my hosting account and I just changed some basic things like xemail, xemailsystem, and made some changes according to the following link:
http://helpnotes.vpasp.com/kb/26-Mailing/865-Configuring-CDOSYS-to-use-SMTP-Authentication/

It doesn't even need the form mailer script to be changed as we tried as one option and it is good. It only need to set the xmailfrommerchant to Yes and it seems to be working fine with all the mailing functions like order confirmation letter on both, the customer and the merchants side, Tell Friend and Contact Us.

Now I just would like some quick question.
How can I uninstall the old version from the host?
I have the latest upgrade version downloaded and installed on my site. Do I need to download the update pack as well or it is already integrated into the upgrade version?

Thank you for your kind support.

Istvan

Hi Istvan,

If you have not made any changes to your store I would download the full version from our site and use this instead of trying to apply the Update pac.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

I can verify that xmailfrommerchant set to YES does make the e-Mail system work for GoDaddy
