Does anybody know where the sitemap navigation is called from? I'm talking about the small text navigation that looks like this (i.e Home --> Categories --> Furniture)
I would like to remove the <br> at the end of that line, but I cant find this being called anywhere.

It is called from a number of places, depending on the page you are looking at.
Is there one specific page or do you want to change it on all pages?

I was hoping to change it on all pages, but if you can point me in the right direction on one page (for example the categories page "shopdisplaycategories.asp") that would be much appreciated.

As I said the breadcrumb is in anumber of places, I've listed below a few of them, but there are probably more. The line numbers may be wrong as I've heavily customised our version, but it should give you a good starting point.
shopdisplaycategories.asp - lines 167, 302
shopdisplayproducts.asp - lines 150, 541, 545,
shoptellafriend.asp - line 131
shopreviewadd.asp - line 101
shopreviewlist.asp - line 34
