Can anyone tell me how to edit this template?
I want to get rid of
[formathyperlinks sub] [formatcomparison sub]
[formatoverallrating sub] [formatratinglinks sub]
[add_addthis][add_polyvore]
on shopdisplayproducts.asp
All my attempts so far completely trash the layout or displays the first 3 items OK & trashes the rest.
I am really struggling here |

Hi Sharon
In admin in config search for:
rat
Will bring up the rating options. Set to No.
Search for:
compar
Will return the comparison settings.
Same with addtvis and polyvore. Just search for the first few letters to return the particular setting.
If you want to remove the link to drrail page search for:
gener
The setting is something like xgeneratehyperlink or something. Not at my PC at the moment and replying from my phone. :)

| Thanks Cam, unfortunately I only want to remove certain elements from displayed products but keep them on the extended description page, hence wanting to edit the template. |

Hi Sharon,
You can take a backup from tmp_productformat.htm and then delete the lines that you do not want to have. I forgot to mention if you are not sure then let me know and I will send you the file.

Thanks vaheh, every time I deleted lines, either nothing happened or I broke the page display. I would be very grateful if you would email me a copy of your file to [email protected]. |

Hi Sharon. If I understand correctly, you don´t whant to show Comparison links, rating links and polyvore. You say that you want to remove only certain elements... which ones?
Comparison, Addthis and rating, all of them can be disabled from shop configurations options.

Comparison, Addthis and rating, all of them can be disabled from shop configurations options.

Hi Diego,
I have disabled comparison & polyvore in the configuration as I don''t want them to appear at all.
I still want to get rid of the ''Ask a question'' link & the ''Add this'' bar.
I want to delete these items from shopdisplayproducts.asp
I still want them appear on the extended description page which is why I cannot disable them in the shop configuration.

Hi Sharon,
Please take a screenshot of shopdisplayproducts page and mark the things you do not want to show and then send to me the template file that you are using for the page. I will edit that one and send it back to you. |

Hi Sharon. I think I ve found something that could be your problem
Manual says 2 things
Xproducttemplate : The name of the template to use for displaying products in
the shopdisplayproducts.asp page. Default is
tmp_product.htm.
Then says: By default the template tmp_productformat.htm is used for displaying products on
shopdisplayproducts.asp.
So, I´ve made a quick test modifying tmp_productformat and I understand that this is the file you have to edit if you want to keep showing "ask a question" and "add this" in shopexd. Delete [add_addthis] and [add_question] from it and try.
Obviously, be sure, that you keep [add_addthis] and [add_question] in tmp_product.htm
xproducttemplate, is for formating products in shopexd as says the description in admin.

I have been trying to edit the right template all along, maybe not obvious as it is the thread title, so not in my posts.
Thanks to you I have deleted [add-addthis] & the add this bar no longer displays.
However, there are no instance of [add-question] & "Ask a question...." is still displaying.

This seems to be tmp_productformat_order.tmp, no tmp_productformat.htm
Look at set up options

Yes you are right and that is what is set as the template by support to show the checkbox. |
