I changed the customer prices table in order to be able to apply specific discounts to customer groups.

A record in this table is now like:

id
customerid
groupid
categoryid
catalogid
discountpercent
discountamount

After changing the table, I had to change the customerprices subroutine as well by including additional LookupCustomerGroupProduct and LookupCustomerGroupCategory subroutines.

This may be an idea for a standard option in VPASP 8 ?

Hi Cam,

I believe only overall discounts (percents or amounts) can be applied through customer groups. So if you specify for example 10% discount for resellers, it will be calculated on ALL products.

My idea was to set up specific category or product discounts for customer groups. In fact the same way as discounts can be applied to individual customers now.

I changed the customerprices subroutine allowing a customer to be member of several (static) customer groups. In this way some clients can benefit from discounts defined for each group.

I hope my explanations will be clearer this time.
