How are products with sub-products treated when an item is "Out of stock"?

For instance if I have BSN Synth-6 protein shake.
Sub-products
Chocolate
Strawberry
Vanilla


What happens when vanilla is out of stock, will it hide the entire synth-6 protein shake?

It'll just give a message to say that item is not available, and they can choose another item.

If you add them all and put 0 as the stock, you will see what it does.
