We sell clothing that can get text stitched on it - how do I provide a text box on a shirt where the customer can enter what they want put on it - like their name for example?

I would need to get the info on the product page and carry it over into the order...

You'd use the "usertext" feature type; ie create a new feature in admin giving it a type of "user entered text" (there should be a dropdown for the type of feature to use), and then stamp that feature onto the relevant product(s)

so, "features" is the way to do it; all the generic vpasp code will do what you need across the board once your feature is created and stamped onto the product(s).
