Hi,
I think there something interesting at shopdisplayproducts.asp file that can make it happen, there was a line
ProductmaxColumns=Getconfig("xproductcolumns")
you can change it into,
ProductmaxColumns=Request("column")
and put additional line on the url like
http://blah-blahshop.com/vpasp/blabla.asp?&column=4
the point actually &column=4 :)
but as note, this tricky method will make your configuration for xproductcolumns won't work, and you need to specify &column=4 for every display product url
