I have 6.0 and needed to customize it for shipping.

Does the new 6.5 incorporate any of these features so I don't need to reprogram the mods.

Certain products can only be shipped "Next Day" not ground.
The drop down doesn't offer that choice with our mod.

On certain items we have an add on shipping charge such as $5 plus the normal shipping costs.

Are there any other features in the shipping that are different.

Last question how hard is the upgrade of the MS SQL DB with 45,000 products?

Hi Bob,

With regards to your upgrade we strongly recommend practising the upgrade process on a back up database first before trying with the live to ensure there are no problems.

This way your live data is not affected i nthe event of something going wrong.

If your shipping is already working this way currently then you will need to migrate it across to vertsion 6.50. We use ourselves a program called WinMerge for merging changes between files.

Hi Cam, that's a nice little program.

Question is the upgrade replacing all the old 6.0 pages or just changed pages?

The upgrade is a completely new site so every page is new.

You would need to compare your customized site files against a default version 6.00 site to ensure that you have all of the relevant modifications listed and then carefully migrate these changes across to a default version 6.50.

Winmerge actually allows you to select entire folders and it will compare every file within the 2 folders and display all files with differences.
