This might be a really dumb question but do the session variables for the cart expire after the specified amount of time set in admin, or only after the specified amount of time of inactivity?

In other words, the cart will not expire at all if the customer is still actively shopping correct? I always assumed it was this way but just wanted to double check.

It expires only after the specified time of inactivity. If there is continued activity then it will not expire.

I guess that makes more sense although I have seen soem shopping cart sessions that stays active even after customers long period of inactivity.
