1. My webhost insists that I can use a shared SSL for Admin and the entire shopping cart. Please confirm I need a dedicated SSL to view admin area in SSL before I pay $50 to have them install one.

2. Any suggestions on which companies to STAY AWAY FROM. They suggest GoDaddy and you suggest others.

3. For a lay person how easy is it to get the site running once I have my Certificate. Is it a lot of hyperlinking involved to that all the customer info is entered in a https: enviornment.

Thanks
Dwight

never use a shared ssl area; it'll drop your sessions all over the place when you move the customer on/off ssl; use a dedicated ssl area instead.

you shouldn't need to change any of your links as they should all be relative rather than absolute; all you need to do is transfer the customer on/off ssl at the right point, and how you do that will depend on which pages you want to force people onto ssl with. making the entire cart ssl is probably a bad move, as it's only really the payment/private (and/or admin) related pages that need to be on ssl; making the entire cart ssl would slow things down a lot for people who happen to be just passing/browsing through.

I have the cert from GoDaddy, the turbo variety for $ 20. It works well too.

Thanks,
