I've followed the follwing directions
From the admin section:
Click on EDIT CUSTOMERS
Click on MAIL SET UP (link up to the left)
Enter your information
Create your message
Click CONTINUE
You should now have another field named MAIL
Tic the people you want to send the email to or SELECT ALL
Click one of the MAIL buttons.
When I do this and choose myself for a test mailing to see if it works, I get no email at all. After I hit the MAIL button to mail the message, the next screen just says YourVirtualStore Mailing but shows no email addresses.
What should the TABLENAME field read? I am only trying to send a mass email to those who signed up for our newsletter and I have the the checkmaillist option set to yes to only select them.
All other emails on my site work fine, but I can't seem to get this mail list function to work.

to debug, try commenting out this line in shopmail.asp:
on error resume next
which will then give you a proper error message if the mailing software fails.
also, as a fix, make sure that shopmail.asp has this:
Dim my_system
my_system=getconfig("xemailsystem")
instead of this:
'my_system=getconfig("xemailsystem")
