I am trying to add a short description to a product in my catalog:


This is the same type of jersey worn by the players during the game.

You can customize this item by selecting a player or by selecting Unique Personalization from the dropdown. Please indicate a number and name if you choose the Unique option.


It wont save any part of this and I can see that cdescription is text type in mssql database.

This will save???? I am baffled at this and the fact that if the larger text was beyond the length allowed, there would be some sort of error?

This code runs on a W2K3 32bit IIS and the Database is on W2K3 64bit, with MSSQL 2005 64 bit.

VP-ASP 6.5


Any help would be appreciated.

Long Description does the exact same thing.

One would think that if you had your database set to SQLSERVER it would not utilize this flag xmysql. Why would this be defaulted to yes. This is why I couldn't get this to save.

This field and a few others seam to be a duplication of what the system should already know when you setup your db connection. We shouldn't have to micromanage duplicated configuration options.

My problem is resolved.
