Have a site selling items such as shoes, for example. A pair requires both size and color options, currently setup as two seperate pulldown windows. However, can't get inventory figured out, only allows Size entries. Obviously need to track inventory by combination of the two - size/color.

Do we have to set each possible combination up as a separate product? How is this done?

Not so simple, tried that and still in the product screens inventory fields are populated solely next to sizes, no way to set inventory by a combination of size AND color.

Hi there,

You will need to use the Inventory Products option. This will allow you to display product variations such as size and color and retain stock control.

To set your products up they need to be called for example:

small red
small green
medium red
medium green

Each item can have its own sku and can be hidden if out stock if required.

Please see the following FAQ on Invenroty Products.

http://www.vpasp.com/helpnotes/shoptocdetail.asp?id=598

If you use features then you do not have stock control even though you can break the display up into multiple drop down selections.

Thanks
Cam
