Since i have had my store the email notification on order has never worked. I have VPASP support looking into this at present and they have run several tests each time they go into my store they get the emails to work. As soon as they have finished testing it dosent work again.

Has anyone had any similar problems like this, am i or vpasp support overlooking something silly

what we normally do is comment out the line:


on error resume next

on the shopmail.asp file, then you can see server-side errors that you otherwise won't see. then you can use the contact-us screen to test out the emailing aspect; it's most likely just that you need to change the emailtype in the config options or that your email server is having a bad day, but you'll never be aware of failures unless you test it first or unless you comment-out that on-error line.

there is another bug-fix that we apply normally, again in shopmail.asp:


where you see this line:
'my_system=getconfig("xemailsystem")

replace it with:

' BYZ: 17-DEC-2006: Uncommented setting and declared variable:
Dim my_system
my_system=getconfig("xemailsystem")
