Just need to ask what "something" could be, when I want to manually authorize the giftcertificates?

"xgiftautoenable" is explained in the userguide as follows:
No means that you must manually edit the gift certificate and put something in the GiftAuthorized field. This prevents hackers from trying to buy a gift certificate and then using it without first paying for it.

For one of my clients that uses the Gift Cert, he uses "Yes". And that seems to work fine. During testing, we would then see the email notice sent to the gift recipient after "Yes" was entered.

The danish word for yes is "ja", and that worked too
