If emails can be generated using the BASDA eBIS XML standards (http://basda.net/bin/view/Core/DownloadTheSuite) the pain that people have exporting and importing orders into their various accounting packages will be reduced - the UK government have adopted it and Microsoft has included support for it in XML3, IE6 and BizTalk and Sage at least support it so it does look very much like this standard is going to get somewhere.

I forgot to mention perhaps the best side of this for Sage users.
Sage Transaction e-Mail can automatically generate invoices from emails received in this format or with the xml file as an attachment.

I agree.

The BASDA standard is becoming more popular and it makes life very easy as far as electronic transactions are concerned.

Most of the 'mid-end' packages I have been looking at have been compatible.

Since it's XML I don't think it would be too difficult to do.
