I would like to reset both of these to 1, however, they both insist on going to the next number in the sequence. With the package came 61 products and 19 categories. I deleted them all and then added a new category and product. The new category is 19 and the product is 62. Have run the convertcategories.asp and convertproducts.asp, but still the same results.

(make sure you delete your prodcategories records first)

I am using the access database, not mysql or sqlserver. I do appreciate the help though. Have removed all of the category records and product records, then run the converts and still get the same.

try doing a compact+repair on it (I'm not sure if that'll do the trick, but it's worth a try)

Access won't do that as there is no description. Back to the drawing board.

If you delete all records from the required table in Access and then run the compact and repair it will reset the auto numbers back to 0.

Alternatively open Access and select the table with your mouse.

Right click and select Cut

Now Paste and enter the name of the table.

Do not select to bring across data.

You will now have an empty table with all fields retined.

Thanks
Cam
