Since I don't have any points in the help desk and support doesn’t allow e-mails anymore I guess I am at the mercy of vpasp to stumble upon this and reply. Who do we contact for sales questions?

I have been a loyal vpasp customer since 2001 and I would love to stay a vpasp customer, but these new upgrade and new support policies really seem to turn me away.

Since I would probably have to start all over with my customizations if I do decide to upgrade to version 6, I find I am at a real crossroads here. Stay with 5.5 forever and keep tweaking it, upgrade to 6 and re-do all of my customizations again to apply to 6, which by the way cost more than the actual cart itself or look for another ecommerce solution.

I would be interested to hear what other people are thinking or considering?

Support, if you see this, please respond with your comments too.

Thanks,
Brian Weber

Hi Brian,

We very much appreciate your loyalty and wish to ensure that we are here for the long haul so we can keep providing you with the same amazing level of support you have grown used to.

We certainly still take emails at http://www.vpasp.com/sales/shopcustcontact.asp. We are just requesting that all support related queries are directed to our help desk instead.

Alternatively you can ask us any non-support related questions by clicking on the CONTACT link in the header or click on:

http://www.vpasp.com/sales/shopcustcontact.asp

We are still answering support questions at http://www.vpasp.com/sales/shopcustcontact.asp as well for the time being until any bugs found are bedded down in the new release.

A couple have been reported so please be patient as our development team is dealing with them as they are reported. We will be releasing regular fix packages to ensure you are up to date. If you do happen to find one please email us at http://www.vpasp.com/sales/shopcustcontact.asp and we will deal with it as quickly as we can.

Version 6.00 is a dramatic change away from the old VP-ASP with some much needed revamping of the overall look and feel and some powerful new features and functionality included.

Some of our partners are at the moment creating new skins for version 6.00 and we will be producing some skins ourselves as soon as things settle down to provide even more flexibility.

Upgrading:

The more modifications a site has had made to it the harder it is to upgrade. This process can be made much easier though by keeping a detailed list of what changes are made so you can easily migrate them across to new versions.

Most customers though who have had only a few changes made to the cart besides appearance can upgrade in hours.

With all of our products you can retain your existing look to a great degree by simply migrating your existing templates across over the top of the new version. You will need to update shop$colors.asp and the stylesheet but from there it is only minor tweaking to get everything working.

In each version upgrade of VP-ASP we add a greal deal of new features so many of your existing modifications can often be found in the new releases making upgrading even easier.

So if you have any sales or feature related questions please email at http://www.vpasp.com/sales/shopcustcontact.asp and we will be just as happy to answer you today as we were last week.

I hope you all like the new version. We are very happy with it and believe it is a great leap for mankind :-)

Thanks
Cam
