Hi,

Question for you.. Are ccategory and subcategoryid fields in products table irrelevant? I mean all the relationships are kept in prodcategories table anyways.. So in theory I can have ccategory and subcategoryid set to NULLs but still have relationships between categories and subcategories..

Am I Right?

Thanks,
Alex

The answer is not maybe but not recommended

The ccategory is used in many places such as quantity discounts, coupons. So if you are using any facility that may check a category, that field should not be null

If other modules are checking at those fields...should there be a specific value there? I am adding data directly from MS Access, so I want to make sure I put something in those fields if it is necessary.
