Need some logic added to shopthanksmerchant.asp to make decisions on what customers purchase and based on that are given a special hyperlink after successful payment.
On our site we offer a:) products; and b:) memberships. When people buy products we want just the standard checkout procedures. But when they buy memberships, we want them to be redirected to a signup form on our site after successful payment.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

it looks like you need to add/use the vpasp recurring-billing addon with maybe a few tweaks made, that way you can split normal products and membership products while still having both types available through the normal search/purchase processes etc. You could make a membership a recurring-billing product so that they get reminders each month or year for renewing subscriptions. I can't remember off the top of my head if there's a corresponding "profile" page that shows customers their recurring-billing products (other than the previous-orders page), but it should be quick+easy to create one. I think that's the way that I'd go; use recurring billing and then do some tweaks, as most of the mailing/processing logic would already be there.

Thanks for the answer. Interesting solution. However, even with recurring billing, the main crux of our problem remains -- how to redirect to a signup form after someone pays for a membership, but not redirects to the signup form when someone buys a product.

Here's an idea... Using the regular download feature, not the secure download, you can supply the url of a zip file to appear if that product is purchased- so just supply the URL of your sign-up form, and then find in the language table or file the line with the caption 'download these files' (or something similar to that) and change it to 'follow the link below', or whatever you want it to say so they know to click the link.

Good idea Cam, how do you test to see if the membership is in the cart?

Oh, but you know what? also need the Customer ID, so what to do... you enter the standard form info first, then get the Customer ID and place it in the membership table?
