I just tried uploading an image for the first time and got this error --

Errors occurred trying to create \vpasp400\vpasp400\0596003099.gif
Object required

(website has been shortened).

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

The message means " the folder you want to write to is read-only"

Most web hosting companies make folders readonly by default to prevent hacking. You need to talk to your web host or system administrator to chnage the folder attributes. On Windows systems, you have little or no control over folder attributes.
