Hello,
This might sound a little strange but I am working on a project and am wondering if VP-Cart (since it is so powerful) can be modified to do the following.
--- My Project --- I was called in to do some programming for a company. They want to develop a eCard system (like a BlueMountain, etc). They want a paying client to be able to: 1) initate the card building process, a "job", from a set of templates; 2) then send an email out to members who are in their address book (would need an option to be able to import addresses); 3) and then have those people directed to a page where they can add/submit a message for the eCard and then see a preview of the card; 4) once a final date comes the initiator sends the eCard to the recipient who gets to view the eCard online and can save a PDF version of it to their HD; 5) have stats on the card(everyone who signed it) and then clean all the info for that particular card/"job" from the DB.
Now, I know VP-Cart isn't designed with this work-flow process in mind but the app does have a great many of the features I'm looking for in terms of client signup/payment, extensive emailing, tracking & reportingfeatures.
I am thinking that perhaps each product could be a "card template" and that extended descriptions could be the added message from each participant of the email group. Other modifications could be made as well.
Let me know if you think I can mod VP into solution. If not then perhaps I'll look into some sort of collaboration tool for the eCard system (or build that section of it myself) and add VP-Cart as the eCommerce component.
Thanks for any help/suggestions. Scott

Yup, you can do some some custom work and operate those custom work, you case ecard, and powered by VP-ASP. I would say if you really analyse your requirements and go to management overview and compare both. Atleast it should fit 80/20 otherwise you endup lot of customization. GOOD LUCK. SJ.

Yes, it seems like it would be a 80/20 fit. Customization wil be required but I am hoping that will be less time-consuming than building the eCard app completly from scratch.
Best... Scott
