I have several products on my site I would to give my customers the option for an automated timed reorder. I haven't seen a timed reorder option and I was wondering if it's in the cart somewhere that I can't see or if its a custom option I will need to have programmed into the cart.

WE have a recurring billing system. This is designed to do exactly that. A a specified interval the customer is notified that a payment is due. See www.vpasp.com/virtprog/installments.htm
