I think it would be very beneficial if you could have custom tabs in VPASP 9. For example in the product details page you would have "Description, Cross Selling Products" but I could add my own tab called Downloads or Important Info. Basically I could call the tab anything and I can put whatever in the body. This way i can organize the product details page better.

Is this something that could be done or easily implemented in the upcoming release?

from what i know, it has a feature configuration named xprotabsconfigs. it can be
xcrossselling
xalsobought
xProCatDisplay
xallowratingproducts
xtellafriend
xproductextdesc

maybe is good to have a custom tab we can define ourselves, yeah v9 maybe good to have this. hello?
