We are evaluating the vp cart software and are playing around with building a proof of concept for having multiple logins from multiple customers. However we want the separation of product so customer A can not see customer B s product and the opposite be true as well. I tried adding users to customer groups and then having the categories only show certain products but I can still see products that I should not be able to see via the setup.

what am I missing? is there a simple breakdown of how to configure this??
thank you

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch!

VPCart handles controlling who can see what product via few config changes. The free LITE Pac does not unfortunately support the advanced customer group management feature.

We have set up a trial store for you to have a look at:

http://group.cartmonkey.com/

Created the following new customers :

1) Email : [email protected]
Pass : testing

2) Email : [email protected]
Pass : testing

Created the following ''static'' customer groups :
1) Group ABC
assigned customer ''[email protected]'' into this group.

2) Group XYZ
assigned customer ''[email protected]'' into this group.

Created the following categories :
1) Cat ABC
"Access Level" set to customers group :
Groups to be included : Group ABC
Groups to be excluded : Group XYZ

2) Cat XYZ
"Access Level" set to customers group :
Groups to be included : Group XYZ
Groups to be excluded : Group ABC

3) Cat All
Access Level set to : All Visitors

Created the following products :
1) Prod ABC
- assigned to category "Cat ABC"
- "Access Level" set to customers group :
Groups to be included : Group ABC
Groups to be excluded : Group XYZ

2) Prod XYZ
- assigned to category "Cat XYZ"
- "Access Level" set to customers group :
Groups to be included : Group XYZ
Groups to be excluded : Group ABC

3) Prod All
- assigned to category "Cat All"
- Access Level set to : All Visitors

Now to see the result in the front of the store with the different users please open a window in different browsers so one can be Chrome, one FireFox and one Edge for example.

This way sessions will not be shared between each login.

A. Without logging in:
- we can see only category "Cat All" and product "Prod All" in homepage.

B. Login as
Email : [email protected]
Pass : testing

- We can see only category "Cat ABC" and "Cat All".
- We can see only product "Prod ABC" and "Prod All".

C. Login as
Email : [email protected]
Pass : testing

- We can see only category "Cat XYZ" and "Cat All".
- We can see only product "Prod XYZ" and "Prod All".

Please have a try of the above and if you would like access to the admin to see the settings please let me know and I will email the backend login details to you.

I hope tis helps!

Thanks
