Hi,
I want some products (which will all belong to the same category) to not have an option to purchase - but just to display price and details, whereas I want the rest of the products in all other categories to be able to be purchased normally via the cart mechanism. What is the best way to achieve this?

Try this:
1. Build Your Product Normally
2. Parse it on your site
3. Copy the HTML
4. Paste into an HTML Editor or use a Text Editor
5. Remove the Buy Now Functions
6. Save a Named File in a Specially named Folder
7. Call #6 from the product record in the Field "Extended description page:"
