Hi everyone,

We were using tax by state previously and everything was fine but we need to switch to tax by product.

I set tax by state to 'no' and tax by product to 'pother3'
and changed the tax amount on a couple of products
I've reloaded the config file and cleared browser caches.

But it is still charging tax by state and I can't seem to get it to shake it out of taxing by state and start taxing by product

Hi,

Have you tried removing all the tax rates in statetaxrate field for all state records? Please also make sure that xtaxbyproduct option is enabled.

Hi, thanks for replying. It did start calculating by product but now the shipping does not get taxed. I've tried different settings and such to get the shipping taxed independently but it isn't working out.

I'll submit a ticket to vpasp and see if this can be corrected.

Thank you for your help though, it did bring me a step closer to getting this working :)

dustin, not sure if im right. but i dont think it is possible to use tax by product and tax by state together. if you turn on tax by product, the tax rate will be loaded from pother3 value of each product and state tax rate will be ignored.

this is what i thought.
