Hi everyone.
I'm upgrading from 5.5 to 7 and I am told that in 5.5, users have the ability to email customers from the cart and it keeps a history of communication with the customers. I'm being asked how to do this in v7.

Since I am fairly new to vpasp, I didnt even know this was an option. Can someone tell me if v7 has the ability to email a custom email to a customer and how to review previous emails sent to customers?

My mistake.

The order tracking feature was turned off.

Advanced settings --> software configuration --> order tracking --> set xtracking to yes

resolved it.
(just in case anyone else runs into the same problem)
