Not really a direct VP related question.

Just wondered if anyone had ventured into Facebook ecommerce yet and if so what platform have you chosen or are going to choose?

Hi Steve,

I've been experimenting with Facebook, it's very easy to get to a presence on facebook using v7 http://apps.facebook.com/anniversary-ideas/ is an example.

Please note if the link does not work I may have made it private or tinkering with it in some way

Regards,
Renners

We liked this so much we created a new helpnote on how to do this:

http://helpnotes.vpasp.com/kb/604-Tips-and-Tricks/1008-Setup-Facebook-App-for-your-VP-ASP-site/

If you wanted to integrate the FaceBook store nicely into the FaceBook page you could modify the template of the sub site so it fitted into the iframe without scrollling.

Hope this helps!

Thank you.

Fantasti! Works pretty easy. Do you know off hand is there a way to better fit it into the IFRAME? Or do we best to make a second site that is crafted down for facebook?

Lots of possabilities here.

I began integration of this myself. Here's my site: http://apps.facebook.com/hostnjnet/

The only thing I don't like so far is the scrollbar. It's obviously an iframe. My goal at this point would be to make it feel more like total integration.

Here's an alternative. This page integrates a online shopping tab which links to the website. Click the Shop Online tab. http://www.facebook.com/daisycheynes

As an update to this thread - the help note is outdated.

It will provide you with two pieces of code. The first you add just after <body> by editing shoppage_header in the Template/CSS Manager. The second piece of code you can add through the layout manager using a "Column Free Text" box.

Hello,

We are still investigating this. One thing for sure is that Facebook has changed the interface and their settings.
We will post an update soon so keep an eye :)

Thank you
