I have been getting a type mismatch error when setting the featured flag=yes while adding or updating products.

The cure for me was to alter shopa_addproduct.asp
In sub ValidateData around line 423 for featuredflag and 448 for featuredflag2 I had to convert to integer e.g.

if cstr(strOldFeaturedFlag) <> cstr(strFeaturedFlag) then
    currentfeaturedproductitems = cint(currentfeaturedproductitems) + 1
end if
