I thought if I put a short description AND a long description in a product, the short would show in product listings and the long would show whe you clicked 'more'.

The same short descriptioon appears for both and now, the link for 'more has gone,a dn don't know why

Any help would be appreciated
thanks

Hi,

What shows on the various pages is normally controlled by template files within VPASP.

If you have the configuration setting xproductwithhtml set to YES, then your product summary pages (shopdisplayproducts.asp) are using the tmp_productformat.htm and tmp_productformatinvent.htm pages to determine what is displayed as the product summary.

Similarly, the product detail page (shopexd.asp) will be using the tmp_product.htm and tmp_productinvent.htm files to control the layout and display of information.

If you don't want the short description appearing on the shopexd.asp page, you should edit your tmp_product.htm file and look for the keyword:

[translate cdescription]

You may also find further down in this file the keyword:

[translate extendeddesc]

"cdescription" refers to the short description and extendeddesc refers to the long description, so if you don't want the short description to appear, then you can just delete the relevant keyword in the template file.

If you want the long description to appear in it's place, just replace [translate cdescription] with
[translate extendeddesc]

The link for "more" may have disappeared if you have altered the configuration setting "xgenerateshopexdlink". Make sure this is set to YES and you should then see the "more" link again.

If you need assistance with customizing VPASP, feel free to get in touch at http://creativechaos.com.au/contactus.htm

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
