By using tmp_categorytemplate.htm, we can get a more spaced display of the different categories. Clicking on one though takes a customer straight to the products, bypassing the choice of subcategories. For example, there is a category called Biscuits, with products either in the Chocolate or Sweet subcategory. With the template option off, the categories are jammed together but when a customer clicks on biscuits the choice of Chocolate or Sweet comes up. How can this be achieved with a template? Alternatively, how can the categories be displayed with more space between them?

Play with CatTable and SubCatTable in shop$colors. Change the cellpadding and cellspacing values to what you want.

Hi Charlie,

We just posted a fix for this on our forum today actually.

To modify open tmp_categorytemplate.htm and copy and paste the following into the template:

<table border="0" cellpadding="2" width="100%">
<tr>
<td valign=top align=center>
[FORMATIMAGE SUB]
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align=center valign=top>
[FORMATHYPERLINKS SUB]
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td valign=top align=center>
$ [catmemo]
</td>
</tr>
</table>

The new references are FORMATHYPERLINKS and FORMATIMAGE. These sub references insert the correct links and an image for the category if one exists.
