We have a tool that automatically exports all the fields for MAS and cleans up the data. We run once at night and then the data gets downloaded through ftp. The import tool that goes with MAS is an addon by a local company.
It works like a champ and has been running for over a year with no hiccups.
It is not cheap. but works great and will save you a lot od development time and headaches.
