Hi,
it's explained fairly well in the manual for v6.5 but here's how.
if you are using VP-ASP v6.5 first you have to choose a spare field from the products table (eg level 4) in which to store the quantity of the product to be purchased and the catalodid of the product that you are giving away free.
eg Edit the record of the product that the customer has to purchase first. Find the field level4 (or whatever you chose that is spare) Type in 1,614 (where 1 is the quantity that has to be purchased and 614 is the catalogid of the free product)
Then go to Cart Setup and find the field xcartspecialhandling and set this to Yes. Then find the field xcartspecialhandlingfield and type in level4 (or your chosen field from the products record)
