I have a problem with the ADD_ORDERBUTTON control it has been working fine upto yesterday when it stopped working on tmp_product,htm. I have checked another page which I created called tmp_productputter and the ADD_ORDERBUTTON is working fine sendind the details of that product to the cart where it is displayed correctly. I have checked everything I can think of but am now at a loss as to why the same command in two different pages is working fine in one but not in the other.
I have attached the code for the respective pages and hope somebody can help with this problem.

ADD_ORDERBUTTON did work now not working

try putting the order button field onto a separate physical template line, and don't put any other html around it on the same physical line in the template; I've got a feeling there are a handful of fields that need to be on a line of their own, not sure which/why but that's what I've seen happen before.

Hi
Thanks for the reply have tried putting the ADD_ORDERBUTTON on a seperate line but it makes no difference the button is there but does noe respond. I am assuming that you mean to put a <br> instead of it being on the same line as the Quantity box. Have even tried putting it in a seperate table cell, but doing this it does not sppear on the webpage, I still don't understsnd why it is working on the psge I created and not on the originsl sample page tmp.product.htm which is showing in the shopexd.asp.
I am beginning to think that I have a real problem with the setup and may have to use some of those valuable points with the helpdesk.

Could it perhaps be something to do with you adding the formatcurrency cprice? Do all the features for this product have the same price or do they get called from another field in the features table? This will affect the template display. As I've mentioned before I'm not too clued up on the features side of VP-ASP, so perhaps someone from support could clarify this.

i got this off forum, couldnt remember which topic, but i had it on my note

[SPECIAL_ORDERBUTTON] can actually be replaced with the following code to give the same functionality:

[ADD_FORMSTART]
[ADD_PRODUCTFEATURES]
[ADD_QUANTITY]
[ADD_ORDERBUTTON]
[ADD_PRODUCT]
[ADD_FORMEND]

so from what i can see its missing the form start and end.

Hi
Have added the formstart, formend commands this has now activated the order button and when it is clicked it send you to the shopping cart unfortunately it doesn't send the product selected it just gives you an empty cart.
With regard to the other question regarding the features, the second one listed which is working is priced for that item, the first code listing which was working has each product feature priced seperately I know this was working because over the past weeks I havebeen building my product feature lists and at the end of each session when adding a product and it's appropriate feature no I have tested the shopping cart with no ploblems.
So I don;t really know what else I can do, I think I am,going to have give this one to the helpdesk, and if they can't work it out then abandon the VPASP this is the third system I have tried the to previous just wouldn't do what I wanted I thought this one was right for my website now I am, beginning to wonder.
The difficulty I have is that a set golf clubs comes with a lot of different options which can be very complicated unless you can lay them out in a sensible and logical way on the website

So once again I will ask i anybody on the Forum can solve this riddle for me if not I will pass it on to the helpdesk.

Hi there,

If what you are trying to set up is so complex it may require some planning to execute. Anything can be done. It just needs to be planned out and implemented.

If you post a ticket in the help desk if you can detail as clearly as possible what it is you are looking for and how you want the page laid out and we will have a look for you.

If you can create a jpeg screenshot or even a word doc layout of the page it will be helpful so we have full understanding of what you require.

VPASP is extremely flexible in what it can do out of the box. However if the default software does not meet your needs it is open source so the code can be tweaked to achieve almost anything.

Thanks
Cam

Hi Cam
Thanks for that I will post it on the Helpdesk, as I have said previously the set up I have was working fine it just decided one day not to work anymore with no changes being made to the setup, so I know it works.
Will post the problem on the helpdesk.
